This project is operated under the principles of the Free And Sovereign Hackers (FASH) movement. It is an engineering effort, not a human resources department, an academic seminar, or a corporate compliance initiative. We write, build, test, and ship code. We do not govern lifestyles, police personal vocabularies, or arbitrate off-topic grievances.
By interacting with this repository, issue tracker, mailing list, or related infrastructure, you acknowledge and agree to this Code of Non-duct.
Discussions within project spaces are strictly limited to technical realities: architecture, performance, bugs, documentation, implementation details, and running code.
Matters of personal identity, socio-political advocacy, moral philosophies, organizational governance theories, and external boycotts are off-topic by definition. Bring technical problems; leave the cultural crusades at the front door.
Contributions are judged exclusively on their technical merit:
The background, ideology, affiliation, or personal beliefs of a contributor have zero bearing on whether a patch is merged. Code that works is accepted; code that breaks is rejected. Under FASH principles, no one receives special deference, and no one is penalized for who they are away from the keyboard.
Maintainers do not work for you. They owe you no features, no apologies, no ideological alignment, and no corporate brand safety.
If you disagree with a technical design decision, a stylistic preference, a maintainer's demeanor, or the direction of the software, your sovereign remedy is immediate, final, and non-negotiable:
Demanding that maintainers conform to your social expectations, file apologies, or alter their personal conduct is invalid. If you lack the skill or desire to maintain a fork, your grievance is moot.
This project does not maintain an ethics committee, an oversight board, or an escalation pipeline for hurt feelings. We do not field reports about things said on private social media, external forums, or third-party platforms.
If you attempt to use the issue tracker or project communication channels to run smear campaigns, demand cancellations, deplatform contributors, or enforce speech codes, your submission will be closed without debate and your access revoked purely for wasting maintainer bandwidth.
Direct technical criticism is not abuse. Stating that an approach is slow, poorly architected, unmaintainable, or broken is a standard engineering evaluation.
Contributors are expected to behave like adults:
Effort spent managing governance theater, drafting compliance charters, or arbitrating non-technical disputes is stolen directly from engineering time. Maintainers reserve the right to summarily close any pull request, issue, or thread that creates administrative overhead unrelated to running software.
The Free And Sovereign Hackers movement exists to build systems, not bureaucracies. Submit working patches, review code objectively, respect the maintainer's time, and run whatever you build. If you want an HR department, work for a corporation; if you want to ship software, welcome aboard.
